Velociraptor nublariensis (Updated info and art !) by Hellraptor Velociraptor nublariensis (Updated info and art !) by Hellraptor
Velociraptor
name means swift seizer
Codename: Raptor
Length: 3-4 m
Height: 1,8 m
Weight: 75 kg
Diet: Carnivore
Age: Late Cretaceous,  75-71 mya
Place of discovery: Mongolia

Velociraptor was the first dinosaur that was succsefully cloned by InGen at the research station on Isla Sorna in 1986.  The from the yellow-banded poison dart frog was used to create the subjects 4X, 6X and 7X but the dna caused the the cells to detoriate and they died. Wu then used the Dna from the common Reed frog.
It worked but also gave the raptors the ability to change sex. Eight raptors were planned fro the park and moved to the Velociraptor paddock. Then, the specimen known as the "Big One" was bred and sent to live with parks raptors. She qucikly took over, killed all but two. But before that, one of raptors changed sex to a male and mated with of the females who laid a clutch of eggs. These were later discoved by Dr.Alan Grant and Hammons grandchildren.

Velociraptors were incredibly dangerous and would seek every chance to kill something. The ultra aggressivnes made the park warden Robert Muldoon dislike them with a great deal. He had at several occasions told Hammond that they were to dangerous to be kept in the park.  During the incident in 1993 they were responsible for three deaths and even though the orginal batch were killed of, another pack were kept in quarantine pens along with Troodons. They were led by another alpha-female who was just as dangerous but less aggressive to her subordinates.  Its unknown how many workers and keepers that has fallen to the claws for the raptors.

They are highly inteligent and can solve problems like opening doors. They were also communicating with vocal sounds. On Isla Sorna they live in different parts of the island, at least three tribes of v.nublariensis are spread all over the island along with the V. Sornaiensis species who live in the southern part.

Several Velociraptors were bred for the IBRIS project( Intergrated Behavioral Raptor Intelligence study) at Jurassic World.

Velociraptor lives on both Isla Nublar and Sorna

Extremly dangerous, use extreme caution with this species.

First Appearance: Jurassic Park (novel) 1990

Many scientists believe that these animals were solitary. Other scientists believe that dromeosaurs, or commonly known as raptors hunted in packs like certain bird, fish, and mammal species. I belive they did hunted in packs and almost all of them were covered in feathers. They were the chickens of hell of the Mezozoic era.

Actually, it is still not accurate. Velociraptor had protofeathers, meaning that they could not sport bright coloration on them. They can be sandy, dark brown, camel-like, yellowish. You can lower the brightness levels of the raptor to make it accurate.

Its supposed to pay an homage to the JP Male version, therefor its bright colours. Its accurate anatomy and feathering, not colouration.

It's funny how the raptor has the look of a bird like how they were said to look, and I cant help but feel that you added the throat sack as a reference to the first jurrasic park when the kid said the raptor looked like a "6-foot Turkey"
